Nice Salzer bassoon. Stamped
"Made in Germany" on bell and boot joint.
"Germany USSR Occupied" on boot cap.
This is a standard
German (Heckel)system bassoon. 24 keys
including whisper key , 4 rollers (F-Ab, C#-Eb),
double low C key, metal water tubes on C and
A finger holes. Nichel/Silver-plated
keyworks are still in good condition. Dark
mahogany finish has some dents,dings and
worn spots but overall intact . Body
made from grained maple wood, no crack on
body or tenons. There
is no rust or damage in the bores of boot
joint.
Recently been serviced,
bores well oiled, all tone holes vanished
with Polyurethane. All pads replaced. U-tube
gasket cork on boot been replaced. Corks,
springs also have been replaced as needed.
This bassoon has Steady
intonation and produces rich and warm
sound. You can play even most foumous
concerto with this bassoon
